Citrus Springs is a master planned residential community in northern Citrus County, originally developed in the 1960s by the Punta Gorda Isles Sales Corporation. The plat covers roughly 25 square miles of mostly quarter to half acre lots, all serviced by underground utilities, an unusual feature for unincorporated Florida. The Citrus Springs Golf and Country Club anchors the central area, and the Withlacoochee River and Rainbow Springs sit minutes north. Median home prices around $260K, with newer construction expanding the western edge of the plat.
